MXON : BATTLE AT BRITAIN DVD
The Battle of Britain was fiercely fought over the skies of Great Britain during the summer of 1940. Seven years later, with the storm clouds of World War II now blown off the European Continent, another battle commenced. However, this time it would be fought in the sand and on the dirt of a motocross track. On July 26, 1947 in Duinvell, Holland, The Motocross des Nations was born. Three Englishmen, namely Bill Nicholson, Fred Rist and Bob Ray dominated the inaugural event. For the next 21 years, Great Britain would reign supreme, winning the Motocross des Nations 15 times. As the sport progressed, in the September of 1981, Team USA won the Peter Chamberlain Trophy for the first time and immediately began a 13 year winning streak. It would last until 1994 when, ironically, a team from Great Britain finally found the top step of the podium.
On a dreary day in Winchester, England in 2006, American riders James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Ivan Tedesco won the Motocross of Nations for the 17th time. And then came September 28, 2008 and the 62nd Annual Motocross of Nations. Held at the fabled Donington Park circuit, Stewart and Villopoto along with Tim Ferry were once again back in England to try and win the Chamberlain Trophy for the 19th time. Just as it was in 2006, it would not be easy. The rains fell and the track turned treacherous, ravaged with ruts, berms and lurking bumps. Furthermore, all the great motocross nations of the world viewed the three American riders as moving targets targets they were determined to hit.
And throughout the entire drama filled Sunday afternoon, the producers and cameras of The Great Outdoors were ubiquitous, permitted all-access to capture and record the latest edition of the world’s greatest, most important motocross race.

TGO 2007 - THE FORMULA DVD
Now 39 years old, The Hangtown Motocross Classic – otherwise known as “Hangtown” – is the oldest and most storied National on the AMA National Championship Series schedule. On Sunday, May 20, 2007, Hangtown kicked off the 2007 AMA Nationals, and that’s where the first principal of The Formula – the latest and greatest offering from the producers and creators of The Great Outdoors series – was sent forth.
Beginning with the opening AMA Motocross Lites moto on the 40-turn Prairie City SVRA Park track, a battery of cameras began recording history, history made primarily by Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammates Ben Townley and Ryan Villopoto, as well as the history made by Ricky Carmichael’s “Thanks for coming. Drive safely” farewell tour and the rider who tried to throw a wrench in it all, James Stewart. All summer long, the TGO crews followed Villopoto and Townley, who were so dominant and omnipotent, they won 11 of 12 Nationals and 22 of 24 total motos. The determination, desire, enthusiasm and talent displayed by the two competitors was astonishing, and The Formula caught all the emotional ups-and-downs the duo, and those who chased them, experienced.
The Formula crews were there to record the spectacular on-track action that unfolded between the “greatest of all-time” Carmichael and the young, mercurial James Stewart. And when Stewart was forced to exit the series due to destroying his knee at Washougal, the TGO Formula crew switched gears, as well as camera batteries, to begin preserving the free for all that broke out when Grant Langston, Kevin Windham, Andrew Short, Tim Ferry and Mike Alessi – all smelling blood in the form of the AMA Motocross Number One Plate – entered into an all-out brawl, the title not decided until the very last moto at Glen Helen.
Going places with their cameras and microphones that nobody has gone before, The Formula is a 60 minute thrill ride that will take you – the viewer –right up to the fence, into the pits, inside the semi-trucks, up into the rider motor coaches and hold you so spellbound that your fingers will be pried to the side of your couch.

Danny „Magoo“ Chandler je po celém světě známý jako jeden nejnápaditějších jezdců motokrosu. Podařilo se mu však překonat nepřízeň osudu a své zranění začal dávat za příklad toho, co se může stát, když se člověk chová nebo jezdí nezodpovědně. Magoo nyní provozuje „Školu bezpečného motokrosu“, pořádá charitativní závody a navštěvuje zraněné v nemocnici. V podstatě je jakýmsi mluvčím všech lidí s poraněnou páteří a propagátorem bezpečné jízdy jak na závodní trati, tak mimo ni.
